What is End-to-End service quality testing?

           
  End-to-End service quality testing is a common test approach in the telecommunications industry, used in addition to monitoring solutions.

Whereas monitoring solutions look at the actual traffic on a network, End-to-End Service quality testing can be deployed to test specific use cases.
  Example: calls (or other services, such as SMS, MMS) can be automatically initiated from one end device to another, testing if services are available and of specified quality.

  There are many uses of active end-to-end testing, including the introduction of new services, the simulation of traffic volume that might be expected at a certain event, or service quality, e.g. in roaming situations. .
           

Why End-to-End service quality testing?

           
  In a highly competitive market, such as the telecommunications industry, providing and maintaining highest quality to end customers is key to a sustainable competitive advantage.

With customers having multiple options at hand, poor quality – even the occasional drop of quality – can have immediate consequences.
