Voice quality is, and will remain the major key performance indicator for each operators network quality. This is recognised by subscribers and operators alike.
Bad voice quality generates short holding times and repeat attempts, and immediately sets a poor level of satisfaction with the user. Furthermore, international Voice Quality tests can reveal crucial quality information of different network carriers, the usage of IP routing or SIM Boxes.
The SITE Voice Quality test is based on the ITU-T P.862 standard via the PESQ algorithm. The common idea behind perceptional quality measurements it to mimic the subjective test, where human beings would have to score the quality of sound samples in a listening laboratory environment.
